We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cook to join our team in managing and overseeing culinary operations within our mess or kitchen facility. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of food preparation, kitchen management, and hygiene standards. The Cook will be responsible for meal planning, cooking, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals to our patrons.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute a diverse menu according to nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements.
- Prepare meals in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
- Monitor food stock and place orders as needed to maintain adequate inventory.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Supervise kitchen staff, assigning tasks and ensuring their adherence to recipes and procedures.
- Collaborate with management to create seasonal menus and specials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking equipment.
- Adhere to cost and budgetary constraints while purchasing ingredients and supplies.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
- Proficiency in diverse cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant training is preferred.
Salary :
- 30,000 – 50,000 + stay and food
